Margaret Sue Avant Clifford
Margaret Sue Avant Clifford, age 69, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
Sue Clifford was born on November 16, 1952 in Eatonton, to the late Herman Glover Avant and Sybil Williams Avant. She was a lifelong resident of Jones County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Anne Avant; brothers, Herman “Buddy” Avant and Calvin Williams Avant; and nephew, Kolton McNeal.
Sue retired after 20 years from Triumph Group Inc. as an air craft technician. She delivered newspapers and worked as a Pre-K/Headstart teacher for the Jones County School System for a number of years.
Sue enjoyed bird watching and working in her garden; but mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Jonathan (Crystal) Hall of Hillsboro, Amanda (Brian) Holland of Milledgeville and Matthew (Julie) Hall of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Ashton Thompson, Avery Holland, Ace Holland, Brandon Logue, Rebekah Logue and Delaina Hall; sisters and brother, Frances Pope of Haddock, Christine Daniels of Gray and Hunter Avant of Hillsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Thompson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home.
