Jessie Richard Ogletree, Jr.

Jessie Richard Ogletree, Jr., age 66, of Eatonton, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton.

Jessie Ogletree was born on January 24, 1956 to Sally Clyde Moore and the late Jessie Richard Ogletree, Sr. in Thomaston, Ga. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Cathern Rebecca Ogletree and Rose Marie Ogletree Hill; and brother, David Clyde Ogletree.

Jessie was a member of the First Independent Methodist Church in Eatonton and a former usher for the church. He worked as an equipment operator for Beaver Manufacturing in Mansfield for over 20 years.

He is survived by his mother, Sally Moore Ogletree of Shady Dale; brothers, Carlton (Frances) Ogletree of Gettysburg, Pa. and Paul (Lynn) Ogletree of Shady Dale; nieces, Daphne Hrib, Paula Clark, Patti Ogletree, Cathern Carley and Mary Beth Wheeler; and great- nieces and nephews, Sydney, Maria, Daisy, Zoé, Zachary, Chandler, Richie, Amelia, Michael and Samantha.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale. Interment will be held in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ed Westbrook and Pastor Ron Smith will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Ogletree, Frankie Ogletree, Henry Ogletree, Shane Ogletree, Hank Ogletree, Joseph Winkler, Robert Henderson and Robert Cody.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Providence Baptist Church.

The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 15, Shady Dale, Ga. 31085.
