Jasper County Voters Choose Mike Collins

Mike Collins won Jasper County handily on his way to winning the Republican nomination for the District 10 House of Representatives post, defeating Vernon Jones here by a tally of 800-235.

The Democratic nominee here was not as lopsided, but Tabitha Johnson-Green edged out Jessica Allison Fore, 106-62. Likewise, Ms. Johnson-Greene won the district.

For the Democrats, Charlie Bailey beat Kwanza Hall here by a vote of 128-44. He also won the state nomination.

The Democratic nominee for Secretary of State is Bee Nguyen, winning here 129-40 over Dee Dawkins-Haigler.

The Democratic nominee for Commissioner of Insurance is Janice Lewis Robinson, who also won 97-66 here over Raphael Baker.

The Democratic nominee for Commissioner of Labor is William “Will” Boddie, Jr., who locally received 107 votes compared to 58 votes for Nicole Horn.

Therefore, Jasper County went with the state majority on all offices. The Republican and Democratic nominees for each office will face the other in the November general election.
