Scellia Dianne McMillan Monsour

Scellia Dianne McMillan Monsour of Turtle Cove went to be with her Lord and Savior in Glory on Monday, August 8, 2022.

She was the daughter of Scellia Esta and Myrtle Frances (Stamps) McMillan. She was born in January 1943 in Atlanta, Ga. In 1953, the family moved to Decatur. She was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church. She attended Avondale Elementary and Avondale High School.

Dianne married Solomon Monsour of Fayetteville, N.C. in 1978. They celebrated 28 loving years together until his passing in 2006. They traveled extensively including a long vacation in Spain. Solomon was a gourmet cook of middle eastern cuisine. They loved being together with their fur-baby Poodle Jacques, who was trained to perform many tricks.

The majority of Dianne’s employment was an administrative office manager in the hospitality industry in Atlanta. She loved working with people and helping them be successful. She was very adept at problem solving and organizing.

Dianne and Solomon acquired their forever home in Turtle Cove in 1986. They retired there and enjoyed the quiet life of the lake community. She was an avid reader and enjoyed participating with the Turtle Cove Women’s Club.

She was a member of the Monticello Presbyterian Church.

Dianne was predeceased by her father, Scellia McMillan, her mother, Myrtle McMillan, her husband, Solomon Monsour, her stepson, Michael Monsour.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne McMillan of Social Circle; stepdaughters, Michelle Davis of Canton, N.C., Theresa McIntyre, St. Augustine, Fla., and Lisa Evans, Jacksonville, Fla.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Cross Creek Cemetery, Fayetteville, NC at 11 a.m. on September 26, 2022.
