Jasper’s Grad Rate Exceeds State
The Jasper County Charter System graduation rate for the Class of 2022 is 91.37 percent. The State of Georgia graduation rate for the Class of 2022 is 84.1 percent.
Jasper County Charter System announced Thursday the system’s overall graduation rate for the class of 2022 is at 91.37 percent. The rate increased by 3.03 percent as compared to the Class of 2021. The overall rate was attained as the district reported a strong showing with African-American graduation rate of 96.30 percent and Hispanic graduation rate attaining 100 percent of all students meeting the criteria.
JCHS Principal Jim Strength stated, “I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication our faculty and staff at Jasper County High School put in daily for the students. The increase in the graduation rate is yet another way our staff can see the fruits of their labor here in the building and in our community.
“This achievement is exciting and we hope to continue this trend of exceeding the state average and getting our students prepared for whatever is next in their journey after high school. It truly is a great day to be a Hurricane!”
Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate by taking the number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma divided by the number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating rate.
“I am pleased and very proud of the outstanding report regarding our system’s graduation rate. The 91.37 percent four-year rate clearly demonstrates our commitment to the students of our system. I applaud each teacher and community member in their efforts to ensure our students graduate with a quality education,” stated Superintendent Kenny Garland.
