Ribbon Is Cut at Jasper Memorial

Jasper Memorial Hospital Administrator Jan Gaston last Wednesday, Nov. 9, cut the ribbon at Jasper Memorial Hospital ceremoniously opening the revamped, renovated, upgraded facility that serves this community.

Many Jasperites joined invited guests to witness the monumental event. After the ceremonies, everyone was invited to tour the facility that has numerous upgrades.

Mrs. Gaston said, “Our dream for this project project began Summer 2020 and more than two years later we are here today proud of our facility to continue providing stellar care for our patients. As a reminder the majority of funds for the project came as a result of CARES Act Federal Funding (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. Gov. Brian Kemp also directed funds from State ARP (American Rescue Plan) recent grant this summer of $950,000 and our Georgia Heart Tax Donors the past several years. How can you help us fund the remaining costs – Give to Georgia Heart. Your state income tax is paid to us in lieu of sending to the state.”

Mrs. Gaston recognized representatives from Parrish Construction, CDH Partners (architects), Rep. Susan Holmes, Polo Vargas, regional coordinator for Sen. Jon Ossoff office, Rep. Matthew Gambill, Jasper County Hospital Authority, and Jasper Health Services.

She also thanked local businesses and medical vendors who help support the project. They include Cathy Driver from Hilrom for beds, stretchers, and nurse all system; Elias Mustafa and Denise Kitchens, Philips bedside monitoring; Robert Jordan, Jordan Engineering; Justin Wyatt grading, Josh Mattison trucking, Town and Country, Jasper County Lumber Company, City of Monticello – Robbie Colvin and Mike Boykin, Ashley Hill – APC Signs, Newborn; Dorothy Miranda – Precision Locksmith Covington; ITM and Carson Browning – Landscaping Jackson; Jasper Memorial Hospital Auxillary – paid for all landscaping and serving us refreshments today.

She said most of all she wanted to thank the staff— Every team member stepped up and went to bat for this day. We have had long days, struggles, mentally and physically exhausting but all for our community who faithfully support us every day. I told them this morning during this Season of Thanksgiving we have so much to give thanks and gratitude.
