Mrs. Barbara Denise Whitlock

A celebration for life for Mrs. Barbara Denise Prothro Whitlock, who died January 14, 2023, will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at 1 p.m., at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 923 Funderburg Drive, Monticello, GA 31064. Rev. Rufus Whitlock, eulogist.

Barbara Denise Prothro Whitlock was born August 27, 1968 to Rebecca Prothro and the late Preston Bailey, Sr.

Barbara was educated in the Atlanta School System. She loved kids and enjoyed working at the Day Care.

To cherish her memories, she leaves behind a dedicated husband, Willie Whitlock; a devoted mother, Rebecca Prothro of Atlanta; son, Milton Brown, Jr. of Douglasville; three daughters, Menyone Brown, Jametrice Brown and Shanika Brown all of Atlanta; eight brothers: Preston Willie Bailey, Derrick Bailey, Rashad Bailey, Derrico Bailey, Preston Bailey, Jr., Tracy McCoy, Terry Bennett all of Carrollton, and Antonio Conley of Atlanta; seven sisters, Christie Bailey, Annita Bailey, Carolyn Bailey, Andrea Bailey, Kimberly Bailey, Kristen Bailey and Laura Ann Bailey all of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Public visitation/viewing is on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
