MS Cougars Compete
Piedmont Academy’s Middle School boys basketball team posted a 49-27 home win against rival Gatewood last Thursday.
The Cougars were led by a big performance by Corbett Crews who had a game-high 22 points. Drew Dodd added 8 points in the victory while Camden Moss and Kouper Burrell both with 7.
Kooper Pounds contributed 5 points and Joseph Standard added 2.
The game was tied 15-15 at halftime with the Cougars taking a 3-point lead after the third quarter. A 21-2 run in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference for Piedmont.
The boys lost a close game to Briarwood on Friday 44-43.
Moss led the team with 14 points while Kouper Burrell finished with 12. Dodd added 8 points and Kohen Burrell scored 3.
“We are having a great season,” said coach Jeff Dodd. “We have earned wins against several teams including First Presbyterian, Gatewood, Peachtree Christian and Central Fellowship”
The coach said Dodd, Moss and Crews, all eighth graders, have each helped lead the team.
