Woman Arrested for Drugs

On January 25, a traffic stop was conducted on a Ford Explorer on Hwy. 83 North by members of the Jasper County Crime Suppression Unit.

Upon investigation a substantial amount of suspected Marijuana was located inside of the vehicle as well as a loaded firearm was located next to a juvenile in the back seat.

The female occupant who was identified as Trista Wheeler from Helen claimed possession of the substantial amount of marijuana and the firearm and informed deputies she was on her way to a Jasper County Middle school function.

The plastic bags of suspected marijuana were processed and packaged for distribution and some bags had printed cartoon characters on them.

Trista Wheeler was arrested and charged for possession of marijuana intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Other persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•David Eugene Fowler, 40, Fort Oglethorpe—: obscene internet contact with a child

•India Mashay Pennamon, 26, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked

•David Glen Mitchell, 43, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine

•James Lee Diaz, 21, Monticello—speeding,

purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana

•Anthony Lee Diaz, 70, Monticello—tampering with evidence, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana

•Miguel Angel Bautista, 22, Monticello—failure to appear for a fingerprintable charge

•Corry Devin Johnson, 21, Jackson—possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana

•Tracy Latwoin Dumas, 38, Macon—hold for HCSO

•Terrence Eldon Masters, 35, Bogart—harassing phone calls
