Early Voting To Continue Daily Until March 17

Some 90 people had voted as of mid-morning Wednesday, and nine absentee ballots had been cast.

Voters in Monticello and Jasper County go to the polls from now until March 21 for a special election to name a Mayor of Monticello and to approve or disapprove extending the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

City of Monticello voters will have those two items on the ballot—mayor and SPLOST. All other Jasper County voters will just vote on the SPLOST.

Early voting for both elections will be held through Friday, March 17, including Saturdays March 4 and 11. Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all through early voting.

Absentee ballots are available soon for those who are unable to vote in person during the early voting period or on March 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
