Piedmont’s Track Season Begins

It didn’t take long for several Piedmont Academy track athletes to make their mark on the 2023 season.

During a four-school event hosted by Gatewood in Eatonton last week. several team members for the boys and girls earned first place.

In addition, the 4×800-meter-relay team of Abby Arnold, Samantha Gray, Mary Myles and Kammie Gibby set a new school record .

Also winning first at the Gatewood meet were:

•Michael Joseph, 100-meter dash (11.68)

•Hunter Thomson, 1,600-meter run (6:39)

•Keith Hasker, boys triple jump (37-6)

•Colt Leddon, 3,200-meter run (14:16)

•Kylee Keck, high jump (4-06)

•Marissa Holder, discus (73-01) and shot put (31-02.5)

Second place finishes included:

•Keith Hasker, 200-meter dash (25.20)

•Patrick Meadows, 1,600-meter run (6:53)

•Adarius Fuller, 110-meter hurdles (21.37)

•Gavin McCarat, 300-meter hurdles (52.95)

•Boys 4×400-meter relay (4:15)

•Landon Cain, triple jump (36-06)

•Alanah Levins, girls 100-meter dash (14.20)

•Girls 4×100-meter relay (58.38)

Third place finishes included:

•Adarius Fuller, 200-meter dash (25.63)

•Keith Hasker, 110-meter hurdles (22.81)

•Teagan Hinson, girls 400-meter dash (1:11.36)

•Kammie Libby, 800-meter run (3:15)

•Girls 4×400-meter relay (5:36)

Other schools competing were John Hancock, Twiggs Academy and Gatewood.
