Teresa Gaye Jobe
Teresa Gaye Jobe, of the Turtle Cove Community on Jackson Lake, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital after a brief illness.
Teresa was a Licensed Real Estate Agent with Jackson Lake Realty, concentrating primarily in the Jackson Lake area. She was born in May of 1957 in Montgomery, Ala. to Betty Sue Elam Jobe and the late George William Jobe. She was a 1975 graduate of Robert Cole High School at Fort Sam Houston, TX. She earned her BSBA in Marketing from University of Southern Mississippi, and her Master of Health Sciences Administration from Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.
Teresa enjoyed life to its fullest: She loved to travel and had just completed a cruise with friends days before her illness. She was actively involved with the Turtle Cove Women’s Club and the Jasper County Community Food Bank.
Teresa enjoyed planning fun fund raising events for various causes and was well known for producing Murder Mystery Dinner Theater events, Casino Nights, and Bingo Nights. She was hard to beat at Scrabble. And she loved playing pool and riding on the back of Terry’s motorcycle.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Davis and husband Brent of Atlanta; mother, Betty Sue Jobe of Turtle Cove; two sisters, Melanie and Artie Guffin of Jackson, Deborah King and John Martin of Turtle Cove; a brother; Greg Jobe and MaryBeth Davis, of Turtle Cove, grandchildren, Christina, Gigi, Elena and Steve, Jr. She is also survived by her partner in life of many years, Terry J. Colvin of Flovilla.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life gathering at a later date.
