Spencer Carter Signs with TMU

Piedmont Academy senior Spencer Carter (center) will continue his athletic and academic career at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland. Carter was recently given a basketball scholarship to TMU to play under head coach Jon Yeh. During his time at Piedmont, Carter was a multi-sport stand out where he helped the varsity basketball team reach the GIAA Class AA State Tournament under head coach David Bice. Spencer was also coached under Alan Richards, also known as Coach Duck, with the AAU team The Griffin Grasshoppers. He was discovered by TMU at a SEBA tournament playing with his AAU team. Coach Duck was a huge part in getting Spencer discovered. Among other high school activities, Carter also played football, shotgun, and competed for the track team at Piedmont. Several of Carter’s classmates and Piedmont family came to support him at his signing, along with his AAU coach.
