Ura Jane Cullum Foster

Ura Jane Cullum Foster, age 89, of Monticello, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at Brightmoor Hospice in Macon.

Jane Foster was born on February 8, 1934 to the late Henry Allen Cullum and Ura Jewell Nelson Cullum in Machen, Ga. They moved to Monticello when she was five and lived in Monticello until she married John Leslie Foster on January 18, 1953.

They lived in Macon for 13 years and had two boys, Johnny and Ronny. Afterwards they moved to Morrow where they raised their family. Jane was a stay at home wife and mom, but took little jobs to help support her family. She loved working in the yard, going to the country where she grew up, and keeping a very tidy home.

All who knew her well called her Mema. She is the matriarch of her family and they have adored her for their entire lives. She loved deeply and inspired deep love in return.

She lost her husband of 51 years in 2004 and her grandson, Jordan in 1998. She is also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Nelson Cullum, Henry Allen Cullum and Virginia Welch.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Foster of Athens and Ronny Foster of Macon; daughters-in-law, Teri Foster, Melanie Foster and Glenna Foster; grandchildren, Hayley (Ben) Foster-Haefele, Courtney Foster, Jackson Foster, Gracie (Nathanael) Foster-Peterson, Stephen (Ashley) Heffron and Christina Heffron; great-grandchildren, Boden Haefele, Chapin Haefele, Anson Jane Haefele, Beckham Haefele, Bastien Haefele and Ellie Heffron; and niece, Cathy Felix and nephew, Nelson (Nancy) Cullum.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery. Pastor Mark Hudgins from Ingleside Baptist Church of Macon will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Foster, Ben Haefele, Stephen Heffron, Nathanael Peterson, Boden Haefele and Chapin Haefele.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home.
