Mrs. Betty Tuggle

Mrs. Betty Tuggle, age 85, of Monticello passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.

She was born in Jackson on August 23, 1938 to Chester and Idalu McMichael who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Tuggle grew up in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High School. In her younger years, she was a member of Monticello First United Methodist Church and was currently a member of New Hope Methodist Church. Mrs. Tuggle loved her family very much and enjoyed quilting, playing the piano, and was best known for her world-famous chocolate cakes.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death, eight years to the day, by her husband, Leon Tuggle.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Betsy and Keith Daniel of Winder; her son and daughter-in-law Bob and Karla Tuggle of Monticello; her grandchildren Ken, Brian, Paul, Glade, and Lucy; her great-grandchildren Phoebe and Ansley; her brother Jim McMichael; along with numerous nieces, nephews other family members and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tuggle were held at Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Monticello First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Williams officiating. Interment followed at Tuggle-Fears Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers were Billy Ozburn, Tony Wild, Jonathan McMichael, Lane McMichael, Leo Nelson, and Chuck Gilmore.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Hope Methodist Church, 2607 New Hope Road, Monticello, GA 31064 or to Tuggle-Fears Cemetery, in care of the Bank of Monticello.
