Deputies Confiscate Drugs
On Monday, March 25, deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office’s (JCSO) Crime Suppression Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Culver Street here in Monticello.
The vehicle was driven by Jameal Rashad Jefferies, 32, of Eatonton. A passenger later identified as Lagavious Samuel King, 32, of Monticello, attempted to flee on foot and fought briefly with deputies before being taken into custody.
During the course of the investigation deputies located a significant amount of methamphetamine along with powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone and hydrocodone pills.
Both King and Jefferies were arrested and charged as follows:
Lagavious King—possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute powder cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone (both pills are schedule II controlled substances), along with several counts of obstruction of an officer during the course of their duty (felony).

•Amanda Boyette Williamson, 31, Mansfield—possession of a schedule IV controlled substance; possession of a schedule I controlled substance; use of communication facility in commission of a felony involving contraband (three counts); possession of methamphetamine
•James Ross Johnson, 39, Covington—fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; possession of methamphetamine; speeding; marijuana/posses-sion of less than an ounce; reckless driving; speeding; driving while license suspended of revoked
•Joseph Lee Lynn, 29, homeless—probation violation
•James Ronnie Sadler, 38, Monticello—burglary – second degree
•Rodney Jean Hopkins, 39, Macon—failure to register as a sex offender/failure to comply with requirement
•Oscar Bautista, 46, Monticello—theft by deception; driving without a valid license; failure to appear for a fingerprintable charge
•Daniel Andreas Mackey, 36, Atlanta—probation violation
•Kayson Tyshon Rooks, 17, Monticello—theft by taking
•Michael Andrew Ammons, 62, Monticello—possession of open container in vehicle passenger area; DUI/driving under the influence of alcohol

•Dustin Blake Landress, 22, Monticello—Marijuana – possession less than an ounce, possession of open container in vehicle passenger area

•Vernon Richard Walker, 28, Monticello—affixing tint to windows or windshields; DUI /Driving under the influence of multiple substances
•Ryan Mitchell Dodson, 33, Covington—open container of alcohol; notice of change of address or name; DUI/Driving Under the Influence of alcohol
•Jasmine Alexis Brodie, 19, Eatonton—marijuana/possession of less than an ounce.
•Aaron Romero Hall, 27, Covington—marijuana/possession of less than an ounce.
