Nancy Mae Lyons

A celebration of life for Nancy Mae Lyons, who died March 20, 2024, was held Friday, March 29, 2024 at Greenwood Baptist Church, 240 Aikenton Rd., Monticello, GA 31064. Rev. Ozzie Hanson, pastor; Rev. Tracy Adams, eulogist.

Nancy Mae Lyons was born to John Wesley Lyons and Inez Dosie Lyons on July 27, 1949. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Shady Dale.

Nancy loved to color in her books while listening to all kinds of music. She also enjoyed shopping and dressing up nicely. Nancy looked forward to getting out of bed to attend Putnam Jasper Support Center where she enjoyed interacting with her peers and the Putnam Jasper Center Staff.

Nancy was preceded in death by three sisters: Ella Pearl Adams, Ruby Lyons, and Bula Mae Lyons, and three brothers: John Wesley Lyons, Jr., Rudy Lyons and Broweaver Lyons.

She leaves to cherish her memories a faithful brother-in-law, Rev. Tracy Adams; nephew, Michael Lyons; two dedicated caregivers, Stacy Whitlock and Lavetta Williams, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
