Kathy Maria Standifer Brown
A celebration for life for Kathy Standifer Brown, who died April 6, 2024, was held Saturday, April 13 at St. James A.M.E. Church, 514 Funderburg Dr., Monticello, GA 31064. Rev. Carlos Brown, eulogist; Rev. Reginald E. Jacobs, Sr., pastor.
Mrs. Kathy Standifer Brown was born June 13, 1957 to Richard and Catherine Standifer at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She grew up in the Atlanta Grady Homes area and attended H.R. Butler Elementary School. She graduated from Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta.
Kathy moved back to Monticello in 1974 and worked at Georgia Pacific, Jasper Memorial Hospital and the Sewing Room. Kathy spent her childhood between Atlanta and Monticello with family. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello.
She enjoyed grilling, spending time with her family, watching movies and was always passing out candy to everyone. Mrs. Brown was known for her pretty smile and warm hugs.
She is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Hobbs; husband, Marvin Brown; mother, Catherine Standifer; father, Richard Standifer and brother, Melvin Standifer.
Mrs. Kathy Standifer Brown leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Chandra Brown and Carlos Brown (Dawn); two brothers, Keith Standifer (Linda) and Derrick Standifer (Myra); 11 grandchildren, Chyenne, Sereniti, Iya, Jadon, Jahmir, Kenterris, Jamal, Jalen, Zaria, Destiny and Rihanna, and five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kyrie, Paisley, Amari and Alaya. Also, a host of other relatives and friends.
