Ada Carolyn Swafford Key

Ada Carolyn Swafford Key, age 70, of Monticello passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Ada Key was born on August 11, 1953, in Atlanta to the late James Harold Swafford and Tressie Verdell Camp Swafford. She lived in the Atlanta area most of her life and moved to Jasper County in 1984.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Luther Gerald Swafford and James Lovie Swafford; and sister, Linda Noles.

Ada was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church. She moved to The Retreat Nursing Home due to health issues over 20 years ago. She loved living at the nursing home because it gave her the social life she enjoyed. She loved to play Bingo and sing Karaoke.

She is survived by her children, Robbie (Tiffany) Key of Monticello, Kimberly (Troy) Hubbard of Gray and Clint Key of Gainesville; grandchildren, Harley Hubbard, Ansley Barger, Trae Hubbard, Zack Key, Kelsey Key, Erik Hubbard, Riley Holland and Cason Key; brother, Ronald Swafford of Newnan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Hillcrest Cemetery 145 Hillcrest Drive, Villa Rica, Ga. 30180. Rev. David Artessa will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Jordan Funeral Home.
