Earl Jerome Whitlock, Sr.

A celebration of life for Earl Jerome Whitlock, Sr., who died May 15, 2024, was held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Danny Phillips, eulogist; Dr Jimmy Horton, pastor.

Earl Jerome Whitlock Sr. was born on January 4, 1963, in Jasper County, Ga., to the late Earl Holiday and Evangelist Rose Bailey. He was the youngest brother of five children and was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby D. Whitlock and brother in law, Robert L. Phillips.

Raised in Monticello and Atlanta, Jerome joined Springfield Baptist Church as a youth. During his childhood, he cherished playing with his family and friends, but his favorite pastime was teasing his sisters. Giving them the middle finger remained a habit of his even in adulthood (LOL). Throughout the years his interests included fashion, music, singing, truck driving, motorcycling, and socializing with loved ones.

On May 15, 2024, he departed this earthly life, leaving to cherish his memory, his wife, Mrs. Barbara Whitlock; six children, Earl J. Whitlock Jr., Jazmine Whitlock, Jerrick Whitlock, Jarrod (Mylasia) Whitlock, Jerrica Whitlock and Mylounda Sinkfield; seven grandchildren, Dashai Hopkins, Ronald Howard III, Amaria Goodwin, Jordyn Sinkfield, Justin Sinkfield, Makayla Goodwin and Niyla Sinkfield.

Also, mother, Evangelist Rose Bailey; three sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Phillips, Elaine Powers and Melissa Jenkins; four nieces, Erica Phillips, Raven (Demond) Smith, Courtney Rooks and Alicia Whitlock; four nephews, Danny (Kim) Phillips Sr., Quarnell Billingslea, Mike Cooper and LeNard Powers, a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
