Arthur Wayne Taylor, known to many as “Arty,” was born on September 6, 1949, in Columbia, S.C. He departed this world on June 25, 2024, in Monticello.

Arty lived a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and unwavering patriotism. Throughout his years, Arty found honor and purpose in serving his country as a proud member of the United States Marines, receiving the Purple Heart Medal for his bravery. After his service, he continued to protect and serve as a security officer for Camelot, always standing steadfast in his duty.

Arty cherished simple pleasures, such as riding dirt roads with his beloved wife Alice, spending treasured moments with his children Joe, Nate, Stacy, and Mollie, and doting on his grandchildren Braxton, Brandon, Scott, Kaelee, and Austin. His love for family extended to his sisters Sissy and Robin, and his faithful companions Curly Joe, T-Bone, BJ, and Babygirl.

His interests were vast and filled with passion, from fishing and genealogy to tending his yard with meticulous care. Arty found joy in collecting coins and guns, and his admiration for the United States of America knew no bounds. He embodied the spirit of a proud American, with a deep respect for his country’s values and freedoms. In the hearts of those who loved him, Arty will forever be remembered for his unwavering strength, his generous spirit, and his profound love for his family and his country.

While we mourn his passing, we take solace in the invaluable memories he leaves behind and the legacy of kindness and dedication he imparted to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Alice Taylor; children, Joe (Beth) Taylor, Nate Taylor, Stacy (Shane) Jacobs, and Mollie Graham; grandchildren, Braxton, Brandon, Scott, Kaelee, and Austin, sisters Sissy Erwin, and Robin Heathcox; faithful dogs, Curly Joe, T-Bone, BJ, and Babygirl, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Arthur Wayne Taylor, our dear Arty, may you rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and respect that will always be yours. Your memory will be eternally cherished by the countless lives you touched and inspired. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
