Billy Frank Manning

A celebration of life for Billy Frank Manning was held June 29, 2024 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev./Dr. Jimmy Horton, pastor/eulogist.

Billy Frank Manning passed away peacefully June 19, 2024 at Piedmont Athens Hospital.

Mr. Manning was born on October 17, 1940, to the late Otis Manning and Lillie Bell Flourney Manning.

Billy Frank Manning was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Mae Ponder Manning, son, Andrew Manning, five brothers: Andrew Manning, O.C. Manning, Jessie Lee Manning, Willie Sim Manning and Clyde Manning. and four sisters: Carolyn Manning, Ruby Manning, Frances White, and Myrdes Milton.

Billy Frank grew up in Monticello and graduated from Jasper County Training School. He retired from the city of Monticello where he worked in the Street Department for 23 years. Billy Frank worked at the Monticello Bobbin Mill.

Billy Frank enjoyed driving in his white Mustang car, watching western movies and CNN.

Mr. Manning leaves to cherish his memory sons, Willie David Manning and Billy Frank Manning, Jr. both of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Dianne Manning Hall, Melinda Mauney, both of Jacksonville, Fla. and Shirley Hawkins of Brunswick; sister, Elizabeth Lucky of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also, a host of relatives and friends.
