Shirley Jean Suttles
Shirley Jean Suttles, age 65, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon.
Shirley Suttles was born on June 21, 1959, Seneca, S.C. to the late James Clifton Suttles and Effie Vinnie Marcengill Suttles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Brenda Elaine Suttles in 1952; and twin infant nieces, Lily Heidel and Madeline Heidel.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and a former member of the Church of God in Monticello. She worked as an operator for Bell South and a dental assistant for a dentist for a few years.
Shirley loved her three dachshunds. She enjoyed cooking and woodworking. She even built her own cabinets after learning the skills from a cabinetmaker. She was a very outdoors person and at a young age, helped build palettes at her father’s palette mill.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Doug Suttles, Ricky (Anita Allen) Suttles and Cathy (Gerry) Malcom from Monticello and Patsy (Hulon) Bennett of Juliette; nieces and nephews, Keva (Scott) Edwards, Tara Suttles, Amy (Justin) Massey, Jessie Bennett, Faith (Travis) Heidel, Katie (Wes) Cox, Nick Malcom, Jacqueline Suttles and Brittney Suttles (Michael Tillman); great-nieces and nephews, Jace Campbell, Bethany Heidel, Michaela Heidel, Saydey Allen, William Cox, Barrett Tillman, Nicole Edwards and Haley Edwards; and great-great-nephew, Conner Brown.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, July 12, 2024, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Williams Payne Cemetery. Rev. Ted Edgar will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hulon Bennett, Doug Suttles, Ricky Suttles and Michael Tillman.
The family will receive friends from 11 to noon, Friday, July 12, 2024, prior to the service at Jordan Funeral Home.
