First Day of School

The front page and the last page of today’s print newspaper feature first day of school photos for many children in Jasper County Charter System schools.

Classes began last Wednesday, Aug. 7, for Pre-K through twelfth grades, and some students were eager to return to the class, some are starting for the first time, and some may have needed to be dragged back to school.

The Monticello News asked parents to send in first day of school photos and we were inundated! We could not possibly include every student we received, but we have tried. Therefore you can view the children here and on the back page showing their smiles for the first day of school.

Students at Piedmont Academy are slated to return to classes tomorrow, August 16 to begin their school year, and they will host their first football game then, too.

We hope you enjoy the photos, and apologize to anyone who sent their photo in and we were unable to run it.
