Persons Are Sentenced in Superior Court
Ocmulgee District Circuit Judge Brenda Trammell presided over the criminal session of Jasper Superior Court last week as the Grand Jury convened this week with criminal trials beginning on Monday.
Several highly anticipated criminal cases were listed on the docket but were continued as they have been for some time. District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale said that he cannot comment on pending litigation but that he is pleased with how the year has gone, but knows there’s some cases everybody wants to see movement on. He’s optimistic he will see some movement in the near future.
Last week’s sentences include the following:
Michael McElroy, sentenced to 10 years with the first 320 days in Jasper County jail for two counts of obstruction of an officer. He was credited for time served from October 2023 until August 2024 and fined $2,000.
Oscar Cabrera, sentenced to 10 years with the first 260 days in jail for a count of burglary in the first degree. He was credited for time served from September 2023 until June 2024.
Trista Wheeler, sentenced to eight years of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $2,500.
Kenndual Thornton, sentenced to seven years with the first two years to be served in confinement for possession of a firearm by convicted felon. Fined $2,500.
Jertavious Booker, sentenced to five years of probation for theft by reciveing stolen property. Fined $1,000.
Montreon Davis, sentenced to five years of probation for possession of a schedule I controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Fined $2,000.
Brandon Brown, sentenced to two years of probation with the first month in jail for fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, speeding, and two counts of obstruction of an officer.
Charles Williams, sentenced to three years with the first 275 days in jail for identity fraud. He was credited with time served from October 2023 until July 2024. Fined $500.
David Black, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamin. Fined $2,000.
Wesley Donald Stephens, III, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine.
Craig Snyder, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine. Fined $1,500.
Megan Kochis, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine. Fined $2,000.
Kendrick Eubanks, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of a shcedule II controlled substance and simple battery. Fined $2,000.
Michael Blackmon, sentenced to three years of probation for reckless conduct, theft by shoplifting, and criminal trespass. Fined $200.
Quintavious Stokes, sentenced to three years with the first 90 days in jail for fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer and failure to stop at stop sign. Fined $2,000.
Sarah Coffee, sentenced to two months with the first 72 hours in jail for driving under the influene and failure to stop at a stop sign. Fined $600.
Declan Foster, sentenced to two years of probation for two counts of disorderly conduct. Fined $500.
Steven Cox, sentenced to two years with the first month in jail for fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and speeding. Fined $1,000.
Stuart Adams, sentenced to one year of probation for reckless driving. Fined $500.
Cathy Clark, sentenced to one year of probation for tampering with evidence. Fined $500.
Erica Thacker, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drug related object. Fined $500.
Frederick Stone, sentenced to one year of probation for disorderly conduct.
Brittney Lawley, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drug related object. Fined $500.
Kerry Jackson, sentenced to one year probation for possession of marijuana and failure to stop at stop sign. Fined $700.
Dylan Williams, sentenced to probation for criminal trespass. Fined $300.
