Barron Cosby Farrar
A celebration of life for Barron Cosby Farrar was held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Eatonton. Rev. Tracy Adams, eulogist; Rev./Dr. Cynthia Jones, officiating.
Barron Cosby Farrar was born December 17, 1947 in Jasper County. He was the eldest of six children born to the late Mrs. Vera H. Pitts. He departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Vera H. Pitts and his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Farrar and son, Jerry Thurman.
Barron confessed hope in Christ and became a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Eatonton. He was educated in the Jasper County School System.
Barron was employed with Georgia Pacific where he faithfully worked for 37 years.
Barron was united in marriage for 56 years to the late Mary Ann Farrar on September 28, 1968. He was a loving father to their sons, Tony Thurman, Terry Thurman, Darrell Farrar and Barron Farrar, Jr.
Barron leaves to cherish precious memories, his sons; two sisters, Beverly Davis of Fairburn and Vicki Hunter of Atlanta; two brothers, David Hunter of Atlanta, and Randy Hunter of Monticello; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Linda Thurman of Eatonton; grandchildren, Kierre Farrar of Monticello, Jakari Middlebrooks of New Hampshire, Dontrica Griffin and Anicia Powel of Eatonton; great-grandchildren, Zakyiah Standifer, Zalayiah Standifer and Malachi Middlebrooks; also a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family, other relatives and friends.
