Veteran Player Beats All with 13
The second week of the football contest proved a little tougher than week one, with only one person getting 13 right to win, and only seven names being added to the honor roll this week.
Wayne Rye was the only player to pick the winner in 13 of the 15 games listed, so he collected a $25 prize from Tiffany Key at the offices of Tricia P. Armistead, CPA, sponsor of the week.
Mr. Rye is a veteran contest player who has played every week for years, and has several wins to his name.
The colleges proved to be the most troublesome for our contest players this week. with South Carolina’s, 31-6 win over Kentucky. With the pros, many had faith in the Atlanta Falcons, but that did not bode well.
For the high school games, Ola’s 7-3 win over Jones County was torublesome for many.
Everyone who makes the honor roll has one or more chances to win four tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl. Each time a name appears on the honor roll is another chance at the grand prize.
This week is another chance for anyone…novice or experienced…to get a chance at the $25 weekly prize and a chance on the honor roll.
This week’s sponsor is Lake Country Tractor, located at the intersection of Hwys. 15 and 212 east in Monticello.
Anyone can play, anyone can win. Just remember to submit your entry no later than 5 p.m. Friday by fax, 706-468-6576, in person, 247 West Washington Street, or by email, editor@themonticellonews.com. Be sure to write legibly and be sure to include your name and phone number.
