Only One Player Makes Honor Roll
This week’s football contest proved to be a tough one for contest players, as only one player got as many as 12 games right.
Janice Arnold correctly guessed the winner of 12 games listed in last week’s contest. There were no high school games included as most of the games were cancelled because of Hurricane Helene.
For her effort, Mrs. Arnold picked up a $25 prize from Jamie Murell at Island Tan & Boutique, co-sponsor along with Murell’s Tree Service. Mrs. Arnold is a regular contest player, along with her husband, Mike, who has won before, and their daughter, Lyric.
Most of the regular contest players as well as the novice players had trouble this week. We’ve seen a pattern whereby the pro games are the hardest to pick, and this week was no different, although some of the college upsets threw players off too. So Mrs. Arnold is the only name added to the honor roll this week.
But there’s still plenty of time, so try your hand this week and see what happens. Just be sure to get your entry in by 5 p.m. Friday, in person, by fax or email.
