Six Players Get All 15 Right

For Kaitlyn Harvey, The Monticello News Football Contest is a family affair, and this week was no different. She along with two other Harveys correctly guessed the winners of all 15 games listed in the contest, and Kaitlyn, a student at the University of Georgia in Athens hit the tie-breaker on the head.

Piedmont defeated Riverside Military 34-6 for 40 total points scored in the game.

For her effort, Miss Harvey received a $25 prize from Betty Jean Jordan at Jordan Engineering, sponsor of the week. Since she was at school, her mother, and competitor, Tammy Harvey, picked up her prize. The other Harvey to get 15 right was William Harvey. Others who got 15 right included Lyric Arnold, John Goolsby, and Brian Holland.

In addition, a slew of players got 12 or more right to have their names placed on the grand prize honor roll, which is four premium tickets to the Chick-fil-A/peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s day next year.

There are several families and extended families who play the contest each week, as well as those lone souls. All are welcome, and anyone can win—novice or expert.

All that is necessary is to guess the winners of the 15 games listed in the contest on page of today’s paper, and submit your entry to The News office no later than 5 p.m. Friday. Entries may be submitted in person, 247 West Washington Street, by fax to 706-468-6576 or by email to editor@themonticellonews.com.

Sharpen your pencils and give it a whirl. Next week’s winner will receive a $25 prize from Piedmont Academy, sponsor of the week. It costs nothing to play.

And, don’t forget to patronize our sponsors…They help make Monticello tick! Good luck! Please write legibly and include your phone Number on entry.
