Community Band Concert Set

The Monticello Community Band invites residents to don their coziest attire for “A Cozy Christmas,” a holiday concert scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Jasper County High School Auditorium.

Under the direction of Jehan El-Jourbagy, the ensemble of over 40 musicians from across middle Georgia will perform holiday favorites accompanied by storytelling from JCHS students. Audience members are encouraged to wear holiday pajamas or tacky sweaters to this interactive performance.

“Our concerts are always engaging and fun for the whole community,” said El-Jourbagy. “This year’s holiday program promises to continue that tradition with both music and storytelling.”

The band has also launched its annual Friends of the Band campaign, offering various sponsorship levels to support the ensemble’s operations.

Chair sponsorships are available for $25, while music sponsorships are $100. Additional contributions of any amount are welcome to help cover expenses including rehearsal space rental, music, supplies, and scholarships.

To be included in the program, contributions should be received by Monday, Dec. 9. Donations may be made by check, Venmo, Paypal or on the website, www.monticellocommunityband.com.

Discount tickets for the concert are $15 and can be purchased online at monticellocommunityband.com or in person at the Chamber of Commerce and the Shoppes of Monticello. Tickets at the door are $20.
