JCRD Basketball Begins

Jasper County Recreation Director Keldrick Davis welcomed the big crowd that turned out for the start of Recreation Basketball on Monday evening .

“Washington Park gym was packed out,” he said. “It was a good night for the 6Under coed basketball players and cheerleaders.”

Jasper Black defeated Jasper Red 6-4 with Jasper Black leading scorers as #14 Kash Jackson and #8 Xeus Joseph each scoring 2 points.

Jasper Green defeated Jasper Purple 12-1. Leading scorers for Jasper Green were #7 Kynsley Davis with 10 points and #6 Kamdyn Weems with 2.

Games were to resume Wednesday with the 8U boys Heat vs. Celtics and the Bulls vs. Hornets.

Youth basketball will continue this Saturday, Dec. 21 with the following schedule—8U boys Celtics vs. Lakers at 9 a.m.; 8U boys Heat vs. Hornets at 10 a.m.; 10U girls Dreams vs. Monroe 2 at 11 a.m.; 10U girls Sparks vs. Liberty at noon; 12U boys Bucks vs. Lamar/Daren at 1 p.m.; 12U boys Warriors vs. Lamar/Shon at 2 p.m.; and 12U boys Hawks vs. Pacers.

All games are played at the WPES Gymnasium.
