Farm Bureau Wins Award For Excellence in Ag Program
Jasper County Farm Bureau was recognized for its outstanding member programs and agricultural advocacy activities at the 87th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) Convention held Dec. 8-10 on Jekyll Island. Scotty Dumas is the JCFB president. Loretha Gage is the JCFB office manager.
JCFB received the GFB Rewarding Excellence in Ag Program (REAP) Cultivator Award in the organization’s small membership division. GFB’s REAP award honors county Farm Bureaus for their organization/membership, advocacy, leadership development, education and outreach activities between Sept. 1, 2023, and Aug. 31, 2024. The REAP Awards are divided into three tiers – Harvester (1st), Planter (2nd) and Cultivator (3rd) with tier winners in each of GFB’s three membership categories – small, medium and large.
“No grassroots organization succeeds without its volunteer leaders, and we are extremely blessed at Georgia Farm Bureau to have dedicated volunteers all over the state supporting Georgia agriculture,” said GFB President Tom McCall. “We’re proud of all of them, and we’re honored to recognize Jasper County for the work they have done to promote agriculture in the local community this past year.”
As a REAP Cultivator Award winner, JCFB received a plaque and President Scotty Dumas received an embroidered Farm Bureau shirt. Office Manager Loretha Gage received a gift card.

Founded in 1937, the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization with 158-chapter offices that cover all of Georgia’s 159 counties. As a membership-driven, nongovernmental organization, GFB serves as the voice of Georgia farmers and rural Georgia by advocating for them on legislative issues and promoting Georgia commodities. Its volunteer members actively participate in activities that promote agriculture awareness.
GFB membership is open to the public and offers a wide variety of benefits, including insurance and discounts for health services, travel and family entertainment. .
