Piedmont MS Hoops Face Stratford

It was a back-of-back stretch of extremely tough opponents for the Piedmont Academy Middle School boys basketball team.

The Cougars fell to Stratford twice, first by a 48-14 score at home, and again to the Eagles on Jan. 25 by a 51-4 mark.

In the first meeting, Grayson Chandler and Matthew Carter both scored five for Piedmont while Cason Phillips added three. Gabe Howell added a free throw.

In the rematch, Howell finished with three points while Carter scored a free throw.

The Middle School Lady Cougars also fell to Stratford in back to back games by scores of 39-5 and 50-9.

In the first meeting, played at home, the Middle School Lady Cougars had two points from Brinley Satterfield and Sophie Thomason and one point from Peyton Whitfield.

Satterfield scored four points in the rematch while Synclair Wyatt and Cora Wyatt added two. Whitfield added a free throw.
