Wendy Farley Banks

Wendy Farley Banks was born in Baldwin County on August 19, 1971. She was the last child of eleven born to the late Johnny and Bernice Farley, who preceded her in death along with siblings, Johnny Farley, Jr., Freddie Bowden, Clara Mae Hill, and Sally Farley Haynes.

Wendy was a nurturer in all senses of the word, bringing comfort to all that she touched. She embodied being the portal of life as an active mother and a self – educated gardener, which allowed her to not only nourish her soul with enjoyment, but also nourish her family and friends with fresh,

home grown food.

Let’s not forget to mention that there wasn’t a dance floor that Wendy did not like, and everyone around knew that her arrival was the start of the

celebration. She sus-

tained a fulfilling career in

healthcare for over 30

years, climbing the ladder from a CNA to ultimately serving as Staffing Coordinator.

She found her spiritual home with her husband at The Church of Christ in Monticello, Ga where Marv Walker is the lead servant.

Her memory will be cherished by her husand, David Banks; four children, Travis Farley, Joseph Rawlings, Jr,. Raven Hodges, and Carmen Rawlings; five brothers, Willie Bowden, Elwood Farley, Dennis Farley, Kenneth (Sharon) Farley, and Kelvin (Carla) Farley; one sister, Mary (David) Manson.

She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, Amari Manson, Ausar Hodges, A’nyia Holston, Jayceon Holston, Maely Rawlings, Zae Rawlings, Deandre Farley, Tiana Farley, Kimari Brown, Markell Brown, Laquitta Battle, Taniljah Watts, and Amiyah Reid; dear friend Joseph Rawlings, Sr; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and special friends.

Services were held April 5, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Marv Walker was the eulogist and Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
