Driver, Runner Gets Eight Years
Devonte Tyrone Mack of Atlanta was sentenced to eight years to serve for an incident that ocurred in Jasper County on the eve of August 16, 2024. The sentencing came during the April 29 session of Jasper Superior Court.
Local deputies attempted a traffic stop on the defendant when a vehicle chase ensued with the defendant wrecking his car and absconding by foot leaving three young children behind. A search for him continued for 12 hours.
Mr. Mack was sentenced for three counts of cruelty to children in second degree, failure to report accident, driving while license suspended, and attempting to elude a police officer. He has been credited with time served from August 2024 until April 2025 and fined $5,000.
Also sentenced from the April 29 and May 6 dockets were:
•Michael Austin Hancock, sentenced for two cases, received five years of probation on the first case for possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine. He was fined $2,000. On the second case, he was sentenced to one year of concurrent probation with the first month in jail for attempting to elude a police officer and speeding and was fined $1,000.
•Tamra Lynn Clark, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Fined $1,000.
•Xavier Coissiere, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of a schedule I controlled substance. He was credited with time served from July 2024 until May 2025.
•Hugh Talbot, sentenced to three years of probation for theft by receiving stolen property. Fined $1,000.
•Roosevelt English, Jr., sentenced two years for terroristic threats. He was credited with time served from February 2023 until February 2025.
•Ryan Jacob Hancock, sentenced to two years of probation for two counts of possesssion of marijuana. Fined $1,000.
•Stacy Benard Davis, sentenced to one year of probation for criminal trespass. Fined $300.
•Joseph Conrad Christian, sentenced to one year of probation for disorderly conduct. Fined $500.
•Brian Scott Moore, sentenced to one year of probation with the first 72 hours in jail for driving under the influence. Fined $1,000.
•Rico Vidal Thrasher, sentenced to one year of probation with the first day in jail for operating a vessel under the influence and restrictions on operation of personal watercraft. Fined $700.
•Cleveland Lawson, Jr., sentenced to one year of probation for reckless driving. Fined $500.
•Matthew Robert Bruce, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.
•Quinton Charles Howard, sentenced to six months of probation for criminal attempt to commit prohibition on nude or sexually explicit electronic transmission. Fined $300.
Probation revocation included:
Alvin Rakestraw, probation revoked to enroll in and complete a minimum one year long term inpatient substance abuse treatment program and banished from the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. The defendant committed new offenses including possession of a firearm by convicted felon, two counts of possession of an altered ID, three counts of identity theft fraud, four counts of forgery of a financial transaction in Fulton County and new offenses in Cherokee County. He also failed to pay court fees and restitution.
Tiffany Vance, probation revoked to enroll in and complete a six month long term in patient treat program for positive drug and alcohol tests, failure to pay court fees, and failure to complete substance abuse evaluation.
Dylan Reid, probation revoked to enroll in and complete the Potter’s House treatment program for new offense in Rockdale County, relocated without notification, and failure to pay court fees.
Micheal Martin, probation revoked to one year in jail for failure to report to probation, failure to pay court fees, and failure to complete family violence program.
Codie Jeffares, probation revoked to two years in the state penal system for leaving the substance abuse program in Valdosta.
A pre-trial diversion was ordered for Sherard Harper and a bench warrant was relieved for Jo Lea Rader.
