Marshall Jackson Tillman

Marshall Jackson Tillman, age 84, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his residence.

Jack Tillman was born on June 29, 1940, in Hillsboro, to the late Luther Marshall Tillman and Minnie Estelle Jackson Tillman. After graduating from Monticello High School, Jack joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was an army medic.

Before retirement, he worked for the Georgia Department of Agriculture as an inspector for 30 years.

Jack was a member of Jasper County Masonic Lodge #50 F&AM. He loved to cook, turkey hunt and take care of other people. He loved driving around and visiting his family and friends. He was a former active member of the Hillsboro Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Travis Eugene “Gene” Tillman and Richard Molden Tillman.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Amber Darity of Hillsboro; nieces, Felicia Thompson of Eatonton, Belinda Brantley of Milledgeville, Sonja Knowles of Eatonton and Deborah Leggett of Milner; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2 p.m. at New Hope (Caney Creek) Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Caney Creek Road, Round Oak, Ga. 31038. Rev. Len Woodard will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home.
