Angela ‘Angie’ Marie Standifer Benton
Angela (Angie) Marie Standifer Benton, was born on October 11, 1962, to the late Charles Edgar Standifer and the late Mrs. Mary Delois Standifer.
On July 2, 2025, after a long battle of lymphoma, God called Angela to her eternal home.
Angie graduated from Jasper County Comprehensive High School in 1980. Upon finishing high school, Angie attended Macon Technical College in Macon, before entering the workforce full time. Angie was employed with Gro Tec in Eatonton, from which she retired.
Angie was a faithful member of St. James A.M.E. Church and served as the YPD Director for the youth. She sang in the choir, often sharing her vocals by singing a solo. She was a member of the steward board and a missionary.
Angie married Gerald L. Benton (Skeet) on November 18, 1989. Besides spending time with her family, Angie enjoyed shopping, getting her nails done, reading, and quiet time on her porch.
Angie is preceded in death by her brother Bryan K. Standifer
Angie leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted husband, Gerald Benton; daughters: Dejoyra Smith (Perell), Sherrelle Benton, JaShauna Benton; sons, Lazarius Tinsley, Alexander Hunter, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, William D. Standifer; sisters, Sharon S. Robinson (Greg), DeSonia Sands (Greg), sister-in-law, Maxine Standifer; brother-in-law: Charlie L. Benton (Alberta) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
