The News on Vacation

Sandra Shockley of Monticello visited her hometown of Oakland Ill., population 700, recently, and took The Monticello News with her. The town has erected a memory wall of veterans, naming the Vietnam era veterans. Mrs. Shockley served in the Air Force from 1972 to 1978, and is honored on the wall, along with many others. Thank you Sandra for your service, and kudos for your small hometown taking on such a project.

Include lots of info about the trip or just a little. Either works. If you forget your newspaper, buy a local paper on vacation and take a photo with that.
