Applications Available for Art, Talent Showcase

The Monticello Civic Club will host an Art & Talent Showcase on Friday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. in the theater at Jasper County High School, 14477 Hwy. 11 north.

All students in kindergarten through 12th grades are invited to take part, and applications are available at the schools and Chamber of Commerce. A mandatory rehearsal for the talent show is Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m.

Students compete for cash prizes in three divisions, K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The first place winner in each division will win $50.

Each talent act may not exceed four minutes, and no more than five people may participate in an act. If accompanied by a soundtrack, the audio must not include vocals (it must be a karaoke track) and it must be cued on a jump (or USB) drive.

The coordinators are not able to acquire soundtracks or play off of cellphones or the Internet.

For art submissions, only one piece of art per student may be submitted.
