‘A God Who Guides Even in Chaos’

1 Peter 5:7

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.” (NIV)

God has a message for us today. In the midst of everything we encounter, he is still with us. Maybe you’ve felt a bit behind and like you can’t keep up. Maybe you see clutter and chaos all around you and sometimes it’s even hard to breathe easy through it all.

I get it…Monticello and Jasper County is a quiet, easy-going and laid back place where there are very little worries and little stress to complain about. That’s the picture that many people paint on the outside, but on the inside, many of you reading this piece are trying to keep the bottom from falling out.

You are expected to be so much to so many people and often you are left wringing your hands in private and shaking your head in despair. Yep…that’s you.

Well, God’s voice is clear. His message continues, so let’s listen to him.

“I’m calling you to come closer to me than ever before. Stop fantasizing over a life with no drama, no clutter and no problems – it ain’t gonna happen! You want to know true success? A successful day is one in which you have stayed in touch with me, even if you didn’t accomplish all of your goals. Don’t let your to-do list become the idol directing your life. Cast your cares on me, and ask my Spirit to guide you moment by moment….yes, even in the chaos.” ~God

There you have it. Pressures will come, sometimes we will feel stressed, hurried and messy. Sometimes we will feel defeated and discouraged and wondering why we just can’t get it together. But, if we stay close to God, we will find that his peace will keep us and give us calmness.

PRAYER OF THE DAY:

“Dear Lord settle my thoughts, shatter my desire to be self-fulfilled, separate me from anything meant to harm me, shake loose the disgusting habits that have held me back, and help me surpass every milestone I’ve ever accomplished while you guide me through the process. I want to use the chaos as a testimony that you will see me through, and you will not leave your good work in me undone.

In Jesus’ Name…Amen!”
