It’s for God’s Glory

Exodus 14:3-4

Sometimes we find ourselves in the dilemmas of life and can’t find the answers because we are asking the wrong questions. Incurable diseases, children in crisis, legal issues, can’t pay bills, or even difficult relationships are all examples of life’s dilemmas. Here’s the natural reaction or impulsive responses based on instinct:

“How did I get into this mess and how can I get out?”

“How quickly can I solve this problem?”

“Why did this have to happen to me?”

Listen Monticello, these are natural questions, but the wrong ones to ask. There is a better approach, one that results in an entirely new way of looking at difficulties, that puts our problems into a different context and creates a new paradigm for dealing with tough situations.

The next time you’re overwhelmed, instead of asking, “How can I get out of this mess?” try asking, “How can God be glorified in this situation?” Your perspective is entirely changed by the spiritual realities that approach.

In Exodus 14:3-4 God deliberately orchestrated the Exodus as an occasion for demonstrating his power. You and I can also view our problems as an occasion for God to work wonders. Stop telling God how big your problem is, but start to tell your problem how big your God is and that He will get the glory out of the problem

J. Hudson Taylor says in perfectly: “I know He tries me only to increase my faith, and that is all in love. Well, if He is glorified, I am content.”

Prayer of the Day:

“Dear Lord, I freely admit that my first reaction has been, “fix it, stop it, and make it go away.” Now Lord, I want you to be glorified through it. I don’t fully understand how that will take place, but I humbly ask you to reveal that answer to me. Manifest your character in and through my life so that others may see and know that you are the Lord.

In Jesus’ Name…Amen!”
