Never Too Late Home Gets Furniture

Never Too Late, a residential group home for boys in foster care in Georgia, recently moved furniture into the home. Founder and National Developmental Director Dr. John DeGarmo, himself a foster and adoptive parent of 15 years, and Lura Currie, who is in charge of furnishing the residential home, welcomed the beds, closets, dressing stands, and table lamps to the eight bedrooms in the home.

Never Too Late is designed to care for up to 16 boys in Georgia’s foster care system; a system that has seen the number of children almost double in the past two years.

“The numbers of children placed into foster care throughout the nation have risen, mainly due to the opioid epidemic in America,” says leading foster care expert Dr. DeGarmo. “In our state of Georgia, these numbers have doubled, in large part to this opioid crisis. Yet, there are not enough homes for children in foster care in our state.”

Located in Monticello, Jasper County, Never Too Late will have an open house on Saturday, October 28, as visitors can tour the home to see the renovations made to the home before the youth move into the home. For more information, or for personal tours of the home, contact Dr. DeGarmo at 706-318-9225.
