Trisha Yearwood Wax Figure Is Complete
Jasper County natives can now visit one of their hometown country favorites in waxed effigy at the new Madame Tussauds attraction in Nashville.
The new Nashville attraction opened its doors on April 13 and among its many star features is a Trisha Yearwood figure.
Madame Tussauds currently has 24 locations around the globe including the U.S. cities of Hollywood, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York, Washington, D.C., Orlando, and now Nashville. The worldwide institutions house wax figures modeled after high profile personalties form throughout the entertainment industry.
Trisha, born and raised in Monticello to the late Jack and Gwen Yearwood, was more than enthused about the creation and unveiling of her first-ever wax figure.
Macey Cleary of Reed Public Relations firm, which handles publicity for the new Nashville attraction, detailed the selection process for the featured figures.
“Given that this is the first all music-focused Madame Tussauds location, the team wanted to make sure that the attraction had a variety of genres represented, from pop to jazz to country and included artists that are not only at the top of their field but have made a profound impact on America’s musical culture.”
And Trisha’s accomplishments definitely fill that criteria. Her self-titled debut album, “Trisha Yearwood,” entered the country chart on top and she went on to sell a million copies becoming the first female country artist to do so.
The Madame Tussauds Nashville website lists the following excerpt about the Monticello native.
“Did you know these funfacts about Patricia Lynn Yearwood? Trisha has sold over 15 million albums, authored three best selling cookbooks, hosts an Emmy-winning cooking show and has an extensive Home Collection of furniture, home accessories and cookware.”
“Born in Monticello, Georgia the three-time Grammy winner is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The April 13 2017 Grand Opening of Madame Tussauds Nashville was Trisha’s very first ribbon cutting ceremony.”
When asked about how much input Trisha had with regards to her designated wax figure, the firm noted that the Madame Tussauds studio artists worked closely with Trisha throughout the entire process.
It was Trisha who actually selected and donated the entire outfit that her wax figure appears in. The outfit selected is the is the exact one she wore to the 2014 American Country Music Awards.
“She was heavily involved in deciding how she wanted to be portrayed. To ensure exact likeness, she underwent a sitting with the studio team where Trisha was photographed from all angles and had roughly 300 measurements taken,” according to the PR Firm. “She and her team continued to be involved in each step of her figure’s creation up through final approval.”
The Nashville attraction is currently houses 50 figures which all represent music icons and include the likes of Jason Aldean (who also has a local connection), Billie Holiday, Luke Bryan, Muddy Waters, Rihanna, Darius Rucker, and Reba McEntire. The very first figure installed was that of Minnie Pearl.
