Cattle and Forage Field Day Set

The Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association is hosting a Cattle and Forage Field Day at Camp Twin Lakes (1391 Keencheefoonee Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663), on Monday, April 17, at 4 p.m.

The evening will be filled with educational presentations pertinent to local livestock producers.

The field day will have five rotating sessions, including information on weed identification and control from area Extension Agents, fencing systems and pasture management, grazing management and available enhancement cost shares with NRCS, forages for our area, and a tour of Camp Twin Lakes Sustainable Teaching Farm.

One hour of pesticide credit will be available to participants, as well.

This will be a great opportunity to learn about good management practices, as well as see them in action on a facility like Camp Twin Lakes. Bring out your family or farm crew for an evening of education and a great meal.

If you would like to attend there is a $5 registration fee that must be paid at the front door. Please RSVP no later than noon, April 7 for meal preparations by calling the Morgan County Extension Office at 706-342-2214. If you have any other questions please feel free to call the Jasper County Extension Office at 706-468-6479.
