Johnathan Bell Memorial Concert Is Saturday

The third annual Johnathan Bell Memorial Concert will be held this Saturday, Sept. 12, with the national anthem at 12:45 p.m., and entertainment continuing throughout the day until 10 p.m.

The event will be held at the Shady Dale Rodeo Grounds, and all proceeds will go toward college scholarships in Mr. Bell’s name.

Mr. Bell, and his friend, Kevin Camp, were killed in an accident in February, 2013, when a tree fell on his truck.

Krisa Steele will sing the national anthem, and the performers include Ashley Walden, Thomas Tillman B.J. “Bull” Wages, Brian Cagle, Dustin Bragg, It Matters, Gannon Adams and, featurted artist, Backwoodz Branded. A complete concert line-up can be seen on page 5 of today’s paper.

There will be bounce houses and face painting for the children, and various vendors are offering their wares at the event. Admission is $10, and children 12 and under are free. Barbecue chicken plates are available for $7, and many other foods will also be offered.
