Happiness

I’m not sure what I’ll do, but – well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale.

~F. Scott Fitzgerald

Sometimes in life you have to make a change. Actually, there are a lot of times in life where people make changes. Some changes are small like where they shop for groceries or which doctor/dentist to use. Other things are bigger like a change in where a person lives, their career or their decision to have children.

Life is not guaranteed that way and usually change is something that doesn’t happen without some research or direction of where to go toward in the future.

I’ve made several changes in my life and usually they are well thought out and planned.

Some have been impulsive and have worked out just fine. Others…not so much.

In changing something there is usually a reason—be it good or bad—for making the change.

My main reason for change is happiness.

If you follow this irregular column, then you know that I am a people pleaser and usually my decisions are made based on others happiness. That is a choice I make each day.

But coming up in the very near future I am going to make a change.

I am going to be happier for ME.

I was going to make a change that was rash and decided to wait it out a bit longer and come to a sensible decision.

Well I’ve decided. I want to be happy. Every day. I want to go and do and meet new people. I want to see places outside of home and cherish my time at home as well. I want to spend time with those that love me and those that I love.

I’ve never done much in my life that is ultimately “for me” and I am about to change all of that.

I hope it’s for the better and I hope it betters me.
