Christmas Is Coming
This is it! It’s less than a week until Christmas and I could not be more excited.
I am excited about this time of year as I love to receive gifts but the joy of receiving gifts is a fraction of what I feel about giving gifts.
I love to give. I am a good shopper for the people that I know and enjoy their delight of having something that they want but would never purchase for themselves.
This year (as I wrote in my last column) I’ve taken more time out for me. I have enjoyed the Christmas decorations as I drive and even attempted to decorate my Victorian home too.
Most of you would deduce that age is what is making me more appreciative…that growing up, we learn to appreciate things more.
That may very well be true, but I believe that it’s a state of mind, and more contentment in my life.
As Christmas comes on Tuesday, I ask that each of our readers take time.
Take time to give of yourself, and not let the Tuesday Christmas day be limited to one day.
I ask that the Christmas story be read, a nativity be explained, a Christmas classic be enjoyed by the entire family, that cookies and other sweets are baked, and time to enjoy is cherished.
In this busiest time of year I ask that you be more giving, and say a special prayer for those in Newtown, Connecticut as often as you can, remembering that those parents gave more this holiday season than a parent should.
Merry Christmas!
