Summertime
“Mom, I’m bored,” cries Jasper County students.
It is only the first week of summer vacation and already students have tired of their endless days of fun.
The students have dreamed of the day when they could sleep late, snack all day, play games on the television, computer and cell phones, and visit with friends. Now, reality is setting in.
“Why can’t we be like the Clark’s, they’re going to Six Flags?” “Why should I wash all the dishes, I only used one plate?” “I changed my sheets last month.”
Mom and dad tried in vain to find camps that lasted two months.
They also suggested to relatives that they needed a nice long visit with their favorite niece, nephew or grandchild.
They have maxed out the credit cards trying to keep the students in snacks and video games.
“Melissa is in my room again.” “What happened to all the marshmallows?” “Can I get a motorcycle?” “Why?” End of Day 8.
