Pitts Chapel Road

The Pitts Chapel Road project is under way and should be completed in about four months, according to Larry Kaiser of CIS infrastructure, the engineering firm assisting the county with its Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) projects.

The Pitts Chapel paving project has been discussed for years, and was included as a SPLOST road. There were numerous concerns with the bidding of the job, especially after the commissioners agreed to use unit price bidding. Although DeKalb Pipeline was not the low bidder, commissioners awarded the contract to that firm, and work has begun. Blount Construction will do the paving once prep work is complete.
