Students Start School Monday

Students in Jasper County public schools and Piedmont Academy return to class next Monday, August 14.

The public schools are having an open house today, Aug. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. for parents and students to meet their teachers and be prepared for the first day of school.

Piedmont Academy will have its open house this Sunday, Aug. 13, beginning at 3 p.m. Interested persons may go to the school’s website for full information, www.piedmont academy.com .

Piedmont Academy, teaching preschool through twelfth grades, is located on Hwy. 212 west in Monticello, just after the highway splits with Hwy. 16 west. The school’s phone number is 706-468-8818.

Jasper County Primary School teaching preschool through second grades is located just west of Piedmont Academy on the opposite side of the road. It can be reached at 706-468-4968.

Jasper County Elementary School, for students in third through fifth grades, is adjacent to the Primary School. It may be reached at 706-468-6284.

Jasper County Middle School and Jasper County High School share a campus for the last year this year. It is located on College Street just before the name changes to Post Road. From the Square take Hwy. 11 north, at the fork where Hwy. 11 continues to the left, take the right fork and the school will be just past the hospital on the left.
